WHAT: 2012 Louisville Solar Tour, showing photovoltaic and wind-generated electricity, and hot water and passive-solar space heating. There’s even a solar-and-wind-powered emergency call box.
WHEN: Saturday, October 6th, from noon to 4PM
WHERE: 36 locations, including residences, businesses and public institutions — twice as many as were on last year’s tour!
HOW: We’re offering three choices:
- Guided tour by bicycle (meets at noon at the corner of Barret Ave & E. Breckinridge St).
- Guided tour by bus ($15/person; meets at same time and location as bike tour).
- Do It Yourself using the guidebook downloaded from the web. Note: Due to the big jump in sites, we’re not quite finished preparing this year’s guidebook; we do expect to have it posted yet this weekend. Still, you may review last year’s guidebook (see link below), to see what to expect.
