In response the December 26th letter to The Courier-Journal editor, wherein the reader used his misunderstanding of science and this week’s winter storms to justify sweeping attacks (see below) against everyone calling for climate action, this newspaper, President Obama and US Rep. Yarmuth:
Despite the routine sarcastic denials of global warming trotted out after heavy snow storms, grade-school earth science easily explains why no contradiction exists.
As the planet warms, even by a degree or two, more moisture is evaporated into the atmosphere. When winds move that moisture laden air into areas with sub-freezing temperatures, record snowfalls result, even as the global average temperature climbs.

Readers should question angry demands for maintaining the dirty status quo—as if record storms, heat waves and droughts were good for the economy—especially when a clean energy economy would reduce pollution, stabilize utility and fuel bills and create much needed jobs.

It seems like every time the temperature is one degree higher than the norm, all the whacko manmade global warming nuts, including this newspaper and its anonymous “editorialists” start bad mouthing normal, intelligent people that call a political agenda when we see one.
However, you are generally mum on the news, such as Friday’s, about how 16 states are under winter storm warnings, including Alabama and others that don’t normally see this kind of weather at this time of the year, if ever.
Why is that? Could it be your political agenda? Clearly, your refusal to report anything that would have shed light on the background and agenda of Barack Obama, the worst thing to ever happen to this country, helped give him four more years to turn us into a communist country. So now you are unable to report any actual news, and there is a boatload of it, that would expose Obama’s desire for omnipotence?
As a puppet of Obama and other geniuses like John Yarmuth you should be very proud, if your objective is to turn your paper into Itar-Tass. Oops, never mind. Too late.
